In the book of Exodus the children of Israel are in Egypt under Pharaoh’s rule. Pharaoh realizes that their numbers are becoming to large so He orders all the baby boys to be killed. But God saves Moses by delivering him right into the hands of the family who has ordered these killings! and He makes a way for Moses’s mother to raise him AND get paid for it! Can we stop right here for just a moment and let that soak in, I mean seriously….WOW!! Think about it from Moses’s Momma’s perspective, she hid her precious baby for 3 months then feared his death so much that she wove a basket and sent him down river….can you image letting that basket go? Then for it to float right into the hands of the enemy, merciful Father HELP!! and He did. The joy of getting to raise the son that you had just given up! Praise the Lord! Can you image the prayer that little Moses was covered in for those few short years his Momma got to raise him before having to return him to Pharaoh’s family?
Now here stands Moses (in chapter 3) years later, a man who has escaped Egypt and is hearing the voice of God coming from a burning bush. Can you think of a more qualified man for the task at hand? I can’t. Yet here stands Moses saying
3:11 Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
How many times I have thought, why me Lord? who am I? are you sure? there are so many so much more qualified? But just what if….. What if God has guided my every step, He who can use my bad decisions and good ones for His glory, has He brought me to this task at hand?
God assures us in vs12
Certainly I will be with thee.
Stop doubting. Quit waiting. Don’t worry of the things of this world. It might not make sense to us, but God sees the bigger picture and He knows our tomorrows. We simply need to have faith.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
