I have always struggled with bad skin. I’m in my late 20s and yet, I still get breakouts! I still struggle with insecurity because of my face and complexion. I still care about what I put on my skin. I still care about ingredients.

Some things will never change.

I have made my own face wash for a few years now (because I don’t just want to put chemicals and man made junk on my face) and I really was completely satisfied. My face felt amazing and my breakouts had cut down. I was using Olive Oil as my base.

When I started using Young Living, it only made sense to me to start making my face wash using these products!

I started using this recipe, literally, the day I bought my kit and I have never looked back.

Homemade Face Wash

  • 1 cup coconut oil (or other oil base)

7-10 drops of each:

  • Lavender
  • Purification
  • Thieves
  • Frankincense

Blend all of ingredients in a glass jar. Whip the coconut oil with a tiny whisk or fork for a smoother and more creamy face wash. There you have it!

I keep this jar in the shower, and I wash my face each morning and evening with it.

I love it because it is safe and super easy for removing my makeup too.

When I use it, I take a small wad of it (it will be creamy, not liquid) and rubbing my hand together, I make it liquid.

Then I rub all over my face, neck, chest, and back.

I let it sit on there awhile if I’m in the shower. If I’m not in the shower, I will sometimes grab a rag and get hot steamy water on it. Then, I drop it over my face and let it steam with the oils for a minute. Either way, I end by just rinsing my face and patting it dry.

My pores have gotten smaller or less noticeable since I started using this wash.

My overall breakouts have diminished drastically.

My face feels SO amazing!

When I was using the Olive Oil as my base, my face would feel very greasy after washing it. This recipe does not make my face feel greasy. Just smooth and so soft.

Hands down, this is my favorite recipe!!

You could totally play around with this and change out one oil for another one or just add an extra one.

Some other good oils for your face are: MelA, Bergamot, Orange, Geranium, Lemongrass, Clary Sage, Cypress, Jasmine, Peppermint, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Rosemary.
